Comoros President Azali Assoumani has been injured in a knife attack while attending a funeral in Salimani Itsandra, north of the capital, Moroni.
The shocking incident took place on Friday, September 13, according to a government spokesperson, Fatima Ahamada. Ahamada confirmed that Assoumani sustained minor injuries and is now out of danger.
